Day 1: Arrival in Djanet Touch down at Djanet Airport where the adventure officially begins.
We meet at the airport in Algiers, where we board a late evening domestic flight to Djanet.
- Meet the crew, load up the gear, and transfer directly to our first desert campsite.
- Settle in, get to know Bobby and the team, and spend your first night under the Saharan stars.
Day 2: Taghin & The Great Dunes of Erg Admer: Start with a hearty breakfast and a quick stop in town for final expedition preparations.
- Hit the trail towards Taghin, enjoying our first remote lunch on-site.
- In the afternoon, we push into the majestic Erg Admer—a massive sea of towering sand dunes. Prepare for epic views and an incredible night of wild camping.
Day 3: The Abandoned Village of Idaren & Iherir Oasis: Morning departure towards Idaren to explore a fascinating abandoned village frozen in time.
- Stretch your legs with a light hike through the spectacular Iherir valley, leading straight to the lush oasis village of Iherir.
- Set up in a traditional desert camp for a relaxed evening, dinner, and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Prehistoric Art at Dider & Tarzroukou: Pack up and roll out to the famous Dider site, world-renowned for its incredibly preserved prehistoric rock engravings.
- Enjoy lunch in the wild before continuing our 4x4 journey to explore the site of Tarzroukou.
- Drive out to the Asasou area to set up our bivouac camp for the night.
Day 5: Issandilane Canyon & Tikoubaouine: Venture into the towering rock walls of the Issandilane canyon.
- Explore the canyon's impressive rock formations and discover hidden natural water pools known as gueltas.
- After lunch in the canyon, we drive out to the striking landscapes of Tikoubaouine.
- Dinner and another peaceful night in our bivouac camp.
Day 6: Tikoubaouine, Timghas & Camel Riding: Spend the morning exploring the spectacular, maze-like rock pillars of the Tikoubaouine site.
- Hunt for ancient history with a visit to the rock paintings of Tilliline and Timghas.
- Enjoy a traditional desert lunch before slowing the pace down with an afternoon camel ride.
- Final remote bivouac night under the stars in Timghas.
Day 7: The "Crying Cow" & Departure: Morning visit to Imouroudan, followed by a drive to Tigharghart.
- Discover one of the Sahara's most famous rock engravings: the legendary "Crying Cow".
- Enjoy our final lunch in the desert before heading back to civilization in Djanet.
- Visit the vibrant local market to pick up souvenirs.
- Head to a local lodge for a much-needed shower and relaxation.
- Final farewell dinner at the lodge before transferring to Djanet Airport for your evening flight to Algiers.
Day 8: Time to say goodbye: We have a late evening flight back to Algiers on day 7. We arrange a transfer and a hotel for the last night.
The next morning we really say goodbye and everyone can go their own way. Some might stay to discover Algiers, others take their flights home that morning.
